“Cayman” , 50 x 60 cm, acrylic on (previously printed) canvas
“Cayman” started out as an experiment to try out new colours. I had an old printed canvas picture there and overpainted it in black. I used some of the colours I wanted to use for “Road Map” and just played around with it.
I finished “Road Map” and was just about to start a new project. So I took “Cayman” and just scribbled around. I had so much fun doing it that I decided to give this idea a go.
Out came a colourful jungle and reptile inspired painting. It is the representation of beauty and danger, hence the name.
A Cayman is not only a beautiful and luxurious Porsche sports car, but mainly known as a small crocodile, directly related to alligators. Caymans inhabit Mexico, Central and South America from marshes and swamps to mangrove rivers and lakes.
The painting is a reminder to respect beauty (such as nature) and sometimes just watch it from a distance. The moment you get close, it might be dangerous for you. Therefore, some moments are just worth to enjoy from a far and do not get involved with it as it might hurt you.
The painting is currently not framed. If you wish to have assistance in this matter, feel free to contact me after purchase and I’ll arrange the framing for you.
The price includes free worldwide insured shipping as well as a certificate of authenticity.
